National Pride
Our consultants have conducted interventions in most Government of Canada departments and agencies, including: the RCMP, the Canada School of Public Service, DFAIT, the Privy Council Office, the Public Service Commission, Industry Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, the Competition Bureau, Health Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Royal Canadian Mint, HRSDC and NRCan. We have also advised over 50 Canadian organizations outside of the federal government, including: the Canadian Council of Chief Executives, Metropolitan Life Canada, The Ottawa Hospital, the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine, Canadian Policy Research Networks, the Public Policy Forum, the Canadian Mining Innovation Council, the National Orphaned/Abandoned Mines Initiative, Ashbury College and the ECS Private School for Girls.
Our work has taken us out of Ottawa and into every corner of the country. We have led leadership development programmes in Baffin Island (Nunavut), conducted feasibility studies on the Queen Charlotte Islands, developed recruitment strategies at the RCMP’s training center in Saskatchewan, led strategy workshops in Cornwallis (Nova Scotia) , developed market research in Montreal and supported government programmes in every provincial capital. This experience has given us an intimate understanding of the issues Canadian organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, face from a local, regional and national perspective.
Sample Projects
Pearson Peacekeeping Centre
Over a one year period, ESTA worked with the new President of the PPC and her senior management team to set a new strategic direction for the organization and to position it effectively within the international peacekeeping community. The intervention involved extensive research to understand the internal and external factors impacting the future direction of the PPC and working collaboratively with senior staff members to develop realistic and measurable organizational strategies.
Public Service Commission
For the past five years, ESTA has provided its services to the President of the PSC to help address culture, leadership and management transformation issues within the organization. Our work has included advising the President on appropriate change management approaches and facilitating the development of transformation initiatives within the senior management team.
Federal Public Service
ESTA associates were an integral part of the team that designed and delivered the Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) for the Canada School of Public Service. The ALP is the Government of Canada’s flagship leadership development initiative for senior executives preparing for the highest positions in the Canadian federal government. The program incorporates executive education best practices from both the public and private sectors.
